Founded on February 1, 1960, Betterhope Sports Club has been the sporting heartbeat of Better Hope village on the East Coast of Demerara for over six decades.
Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of one of Guyana's most tight-knit communities, BHSC has produced outstanding athletes, fostered youth development, and brought together residents through the power of sport. From competitive cricket in the DCB First Division to community football, basketball, table tennis, and volleyball, the club represents the very best of Better Hope.
The village, home to over 3,000 residents, has been described as a beacon of togetherness — and the sports club stands at the center of that unity.

The IMC and Better Hope/LBI NDC engaged in a landmark meeting to discuss the way forward. Key decisions were reached to propel the club and develop sports under a unified BHSC.
Cricket
With the resumption of the East Coast Cricket Board competition, BHSC is preparing to host practice sessions. The floodlit facility is being readied for evening training.

BHSC welcomed Kataleya Sam, National U14/U16 Girls Chess Champion, and Sudesh Persaud Fitzgerald, a man of many records in darts, to its growing roster of multi-sport athletes.
